I Hate House-Hunting

So last week, our first foray into house-hunting, we found one house that we liked but found out it already had a very "competitive" offer on it. Not wanting to get into a bidding war in a buyer's market, we decided to pass. The house later sold for more than the asking price.

Fast-forward to this week. After seeing a moldy house (gross), a house that backs to a major road, and a too-small house, we finally found the perfect house for us. Priced perfectly, it has everything that we need, and it is just a nice ranch house. Honestly people, we are not in the market to buy a mansion - can you say student loans?

So we fall completely in love with this sweet house and find out that 2 offers were made on it that very day. It has been on the market for 5 days. What was it they were saying about this being a buyer's market? The tune seems to be changing rather quickly down there in Omaha. We now need to decide whether to throw our offer in the mix too. Or just give up and look for something else. What to do???

I hear you. We're waiting to hear back on a house Monday. Apparently there is at least one other offer, but I think it's a scam to get us to offer more. Who knows? But there are tons of houses. So exhausting.
