Pictures and more pictures

As I mentioned before, I took a TON of pictures when we were in Nebraska. Last count I think it was around 500 - totally crazy. Of course many are duplicates taken with the handy dandy burst button. So I need to delete at least half of the pictures.:) But here are a few of my favorites.

Fun at the Zoo

One of the places that we love to go to in Lincoln is the Children's Zoo. So when we were there last week of course we bought our yearly pass and went! It is the perfect zoo for kids - you can get very close to the animals and it only takes about an hour and a half to walk around the whole thing. Here are some pictures from our fun day.

Eating, Toddler-Style

One of the first nights we were in NE we had ribs. I have to admit, Rafael has never had ribs. (Mommy never wants to take the time to make them!) He and his cousin, Charlotte, loved them. Everyone else was done eating and these two were still gnawing away for another 30 minutes. Charlotte is 2 months older than Rafael (she'll be 2 in just a few weeks). As you can tell, she has a great sense of humor.

We are Home!!!

We headed to my parents' house last week. My sister and her two adorable daughters were visiting also, so we had a blast. I could have updated the blog while we were there but I was too busy/tired/preoccupied to worry about it! I took about 200 pictures while we were there and we did tons of things, so I'll be posting a bunch of pictures over the next few days. :)

Trip to the Farm

Today we went with Anastasia's preschool to a local farm. It was so much fun. We went on a hayride all around the farm.
We petted a cute lamb and saw cattle and lots of pigs. Anastasia even got to hold a baby pig. I posted 2 pictures of the pig because I liked the expression on the pig's face in the one picture and the expression on Anastasia's face in the other one. It was really hard to get pictures with 20 kids running around!

Rafael also came along and a great time. He liked the hayride, the farm animals, and most especially the 100+ lb Yellow Lab named Drake. (The biggest Lab I have ever seen, picture a small pony). I desperately tried to get a picture of Rafael with the dog, but neither one would hold still. Despite the fact that the dog was taller than Rafael and weighed 5 times as much as he did, my little guy wasn't afraid at all. I knew he liked dogs, but he hasn't been around them much in real life. I think it's safe to say, he definitely LOVES dogs!

April Fun

Anastasia was the star of the week at school so the teacher put up a bulletin board all about Anastasia. I went in to read a story to the class and Anastasia decided that she was going to read some stories to her class also. So she read three of her easy readers to her preschool class. Not bad for a preschooler! I think the other kids were surprised that she could read. I was certainly surprised that she wanted to read in front of everyone. She did a really good job.

We have been having fun playing outside, again. Rafael loves the little cars in the playground (they all belong to the neighbors, but everyone is generous and shares the toys). He was having tons of fun pretending to drive the car. It is very hard to bring him inside; I think he would stay out there all day if we let him!
